    Help With Line Chart

    Hello all,

I'm trying to figure out how to make a specific line chart. Some background info - I have attached a sheet that has tables from different dates, starting with the oldest. Each table is a snapshot in time for how many products a specific person is responsible for maintaining data on, and what stage the data is in. I want the chart to be a progression over time, showing the movement of numbers through the stages, as well as how they compare to the totals for each month. The ticky thing is that new people have jumped in at different times, and some old ones have fallen off. The important thing is being able to get a visual of how much a person was working on, and in what stage, as the timeline progresses.

Does this make sense? I'm somewhat of a n00b when it comes to making charts, so I appreciate any feedback/pointers.

    Thanks!

    Re: Help With Line Chart

so you have the elements of:

    - how much
    - a person was working on, and
    - in what stage, as
    - the timeline progresses.

so what do you expect the horizontal scale to represent, and what is the vertical?
Then what do you expect the line or lines to represent?

I think the vertical scale would be the grand total of products, whereas the horizontal is the different stages - like how many are in that stage for that particular person. If you think there might be a different type of chart that would be better suited for this type of thing, I'm open to that as well.
