    Dual X-Axis Help?

Ok experts, I need some help. I bought the MrExcel Charts and Graphs book recently, but didn't find exactly what I needed. I am using Excel 2010. What I am trying to do is have a floating sub-axis, that is based on data input into a table on a different sheet. The desired chart is a line chart with each node represented. The vertical axis will be pressure, the horizontal axis will be volume. In addition, at some point that will be unique to each test, I would like for an additional horizontal axis (shut-in time) to be inserted into the graph. I don't want to just have volume on the bottom horizontal and time on the top. I would like to have the time-axis actually "floating" within the graph, although I'm not sure if that is possible.

Below is a crude example table of the data that is to be charted. The volume to be pumped, and the pressures are all unknown going into the test. Sometimes I may have to pump 10 bbls before shut-in, sometimes it may be 3, so the placement and beginning and end of the second axis needs to be dependent upon the entries in the table. Here is a link to an example of what the graph should look like: http://origin-ars.els-cdn.com/conten...002435-gr1.jpg

Any help or insight will be greatly appreciated!

I'm sorry, it looks like the link to the example graph isn't working. Hopefully this one does. LOTchart.png

    Hi Younggun,

    Welcome tot he forums!

I am not sure you need another axis. You just need to setup your data in a way that makes each series start and stop at different points.

Here is my sample of the chart you wanted made completely in Excel with standard Chart options.

Set up your data in this way and try to make the same chart. Let me know what issues you have.
