    Linking powerpoint and excel

Okay, I have been at it for a couple hours and I cannot seem to figure out my problem...

    1. I have 12 charts which are copied and pasted from Excel to Powerpoint (bar graphs, pie, line charts)
    2. I previously set it up to automatically update all of the links (i.e. paste special), thereby updating them as soon as you open the powerpoint.
    3. I had to move the files and make some adjustments, so I repeated steps 1 and 2.
    4. Now, for some reason only the line charts are not updating. The pie charts and bar graphs are updating, but not the line charts.

I cannot figure out what the issue is with the setup. I copied and pasted all of them the same way, but some of them just refuse to update.... ughhh

This is a different powerpoint presentation than what I previously used? Is there some issue with the line charts? Does powerpoint not accept certain chart types?

The following three functions are the dynamic ranges setup for a single chart:
OVERDUE =OFFSET('Metrics'!$D$33,0,COUNT(Datewksht)-13,1,13) - line A refers to row of data A
OPEN =OFFSET('Metrics'!$D$32,0,COUNT(Datewksht)-13,1,13) - line B refers to row of data B
    Date =OFFSET('Totals'!$D$2,0,COUNTIF('Totals'!$D$2:$BQ$2,"<>#N/A")-13,1,13) - y-axis
Datewksht ='Totals'!$D$2:$BQ$2 - this is a row of dates, every 7 days

    FYI
    -Office 2010
-The old way used a different powerpoint presentation template
-All line charts update accordingly within excel
-updated dynamic ranges with most current revision

    Please help!

I suggest you to use the easy way rather applying complicated formulae..

Go to PowerPoint -- Insert a Chart -- Excel sheet will be opened along with Chart -- Give reference from this PPT excel to your working Excel output data sheet. Finished.

When ever you updated your Working Excel.. Open the PowerPoint and just right click on the edit data option of Graph to fetch latest data (or you can fix macro for this).

I will give that a try. The reason I use the formulas is to keep the chart dynamic. Basically, I need to report most recent 3 months of data each week for a manager's meeting. The functions listed above are names which allow the charts to updated as data is added. If I do this the other way, will I need to adjust the chart each week? Because I will need to include another column of data.

The powerpoint used to link prior to editing some of the names, so I wonder if maybe certain name parameters are not recognized by Powerpoint.
