How to create graph with frequency plots of multiple datasets?

    Hi there!

I have 2 datasets for which I want to create a frequency plot in one combined graph.

I used the histogram function to create a table and then created two separate graphs which show the frequency of each bin. However, When I combine both graphs, either need two X-axes (which is inconvenient) or use the same size of bin for both data sets: for one data set this results in only 2 bins whereas the other has 10+. Does anyone knows a good solution for this problem?

    Many thanks!

You could take the midpoint of the bin for each series as the x value and using the frequency as the y value plot the 2 series as lines on a single x axis.

Another idea, if your frequency plots are nice and symmetrical i.e. your data is normally distributed you could plot the normal curves of the 2 data sets, as I outlined in this thread, http://www.excelforum.com/excel-char...84#post3158684
