    Screen shot 2013-03-08 at 12.38.17.png
    Hi all,
Really struggling here, what I need is to be able to count which species appear in similar sites e.g. Shallow,Plastic and Horizontal, without counting the same species multiple times. Is this possible, can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance,
    George

    Hi George,

Only 4 sepcies are repeating in column D:-
    Ceramium rubrum
    Pomatoceros triqueter
    Pterothamnion plumula
    Unidentified sp.

what is your expected result ?

Re: Count over Multiple columns, please help

ok so the bottom row is the total number of species in each treatment. I want this data for all the replicates combined but the only way i can manage to do it is by doing a count for each column which then means that i may have counted the same species multiple times. If I'm not making sense then don't worry i can do it manually its just there must be a way of doing it quickly.
Thanks anyway, really appreciate any help

As I shared earlier, there are only 4 species which can be counted more than 1 since all other are unique ones.
