Chart data labels format corresponding to data range

    Hi,

The range for my bar chart is a vlookup. This saves some space n a worksheet, as I should have 20 graphs on it. The user selects a product in a data validated cell (dropdown) and chart updates. The chart range is conditionaly formated and it has two formats set - number and percentage. If user selects to view a number based product from the dropdown - chart range shows plain numbers, the same with percentage.

    Problem:

How do I get the chart data labels to recognize the cell format? Even if I check "linked to source" it gives me number format, when range is all in percentage?

    Thanks

    Hi,

in such cases I always add two seperate data series and hide one (="") via an IF-function if user selects the other option.

    Regards

Can you give me a bit more clarification how this can be done? Charts are not where I'm feeling strong...
