Project status diagram

Hello there!

I would like to present a diagram which shows how the ongoing projects are preceeding in my company.

This is what I would like to have:

*Project number on the y-axis
*Priority on the x axis
* Coulour of a circle showing type of project
* Size of circle showing size of project

Which is the easiest way to manage this in Excel 2010?

PS. Would it be possible to include even more dimensions in the future, for example different figures or different figur-patterns?

Hello,

this can be done with a bubble chart. A bubble chart is basically an XY chart with an additional dimension for the marker size. "Even more dimensions" will be pretty hard to include into the same chart. You may want to re-think your approach and resort to other ways of data visualisation. Jon Peltier at www.peltiertech.com and Chandoo at www.chandoo.org have lots of help for charts and data visualisation. And then, of course, Stephen Few is THE authority on good charting, over at www.perceptualedge.com.

I will check out those links when I am back att work tomorrow. I might be trying to make some VBA-macros to accomplish this, but I am afraid it might get quite messy :S
