Population pyramid with vertical axis labels between male and female data series

    Hello,

I'm trying to create a single population pyramid that has the vertical axis label between the male and female data series. Under Axis Options in the Format Axis dialog box I can select 'Next to Axis' for the Axis Labels but this results in the labels being covered up by the male (negative value) data series. I can get the effect I want by creating two separate horizontal bar graphs and overlapping them but this creates formatting problems when they are inserted into a report. Does anyone know of a possible solution? The attached file contains the population pyramid I'm working on.

    Thanks

    Hello Erica
Take a look at the attached example file. There might be a better way of doing this but maybe it's something you can use. There are a couple of hidden series in the stacked column chart (that allow some adjustment) and some custom formatting to show negative values as positive.

    Hope this helps.
