Question Plotting mean value with spread of data

Hi all, first post, be gentle.

    Using Excel 2010.

I'm attempting to plot some data in a scatter graph. I'll keep it simple for now. I have 13 columns with 5 data points in each, I have the mean of each column plotted in a scatter chart. Easy enough.

What I want to do is for each point on the scatter chart is to display the range of data, eg the min and max. Ideally on each point a little marker above and below the mean point connected by a small line. With or with the value displayed. I don't mind. very much like what a stock - high, low, close chart looks like.

Is that possible in excel? struggling to find the solution using the usual google help and excel help. Thought id ask on here.

    Thanks

I would probably calculate the change for each max/min (=max-mean,=min-mean, might need ABS function, too). Then you can use the error bars for each data series, custom + and - options to show the range about the mean for each point.
