Question How to switch xy axes on scatterplot?

How do I switch the xy axes on a scatterplot in Excel 2007?

I have three columns of data, and Excel automatically takes the first column and makes it the x axis, and then plots the other two series against it.

What I want is to make the first column the y axis, and plot the values of the other two series against the x axis. (The command "switch row/column" on the Design ribbon doesn't display the data correctly.) Thanks.

If the chart is already created, go into the "source data" dialog (not sure where to find it in the newer versions of Excel). In this dialog, you can edit each series, independently assigning the desired ranges to x and y data.

MrShorty, thanks, but the solution doesn't seem to work with the scatterplot using a first column of data with two different series plotted against it. The popup says "the data range is too complex" and it only allows the user to edit what Excel wants as the horizontal axes (i.e. the two other series).

Not sure what to say. I do this (plot 1 set of y data against 2 different sets of x data) all the time, and that is how it works (at least in 2002). Gut feel is that you either do not have a scatter plot or you haven't found the right dialog or something else specific to 2007/2010.
