best way to record multiple variables before use in pivot table

I am establishing some new test criteria. I want to record the date and the results of 8 different tests. One of the tests is repeated 9 times at different time intervals. The intervals are not set, so today I may take readings every 5 minutes and tomorrow I may take them every two hours. All data is entered to the sheet manually. My question has to do with how best to lay out the data collection sheet so that it facilitates good pivot table analysis. How or how much one variable affects the others is unknown, so I plan to twist and pull the data. I want to chart all my 5 minute tensile tests against the 5 minute results. I want to chart my 9 daily tensile tests over the total elapsed test time. I want to chart max tensile strength against LOI and so forth... Part of my problem is that I don't know what I want to do! If all this was one variable per test it would be straight forward. The multiple tensile tests each day at different elapsed time intervals is what has me confused. Is there a better way to enter this data on a sheet that facilitates the kind of pivot table use I am going for?data collection for pivot table analysis.xlsx
