Power Pivot not displaying on ribbon

Hi
I downloaded SQL Server 2012 Power Pivot for Excel 2010 and it is not displaying on the ribbon. It did so after I initially downloaded it last year, but at some point disappeared. I just downloaded the newer version of it and it is still not displaying.

When I try to go into COM objects and check it to appear, it unchecks itself and I see there is an error on the bottom of the dialogue box (see attached image below).

Has anyone run into this before?

did you install the correct version-32 versus 64bit-for your office version? (I assume you are actually using 2010 in spite of what your profile says)

Yes, I have XP, 32 bit and downloaded the x86. It seemed to install fine.

do you have all the prerequisites such as the correct .net framework?

Yes. I downloaded it last year, the SQL server 2008 version, and it did appear and work fine. At some point though, it disappeared from the ribbon though. When I just downloaded the SQL Server 2012 version, it also it not appearing on the ribbon.

did you see my edit to my post?

did you uninstall the previous version first and have you check the disabled items in the add-ins section of excel options?

Yes, I uninstalled the previous version and checked disabled items in options. Neither worked.

As I said above, after downloading Powerpivot, it did appear on the ribbon and work correctly. However, it disappeared at some point later on. At some point after I downloaded Powerpivot, I also downloaded two other Excel add-ons, XY Chart Labels and Excel Utilities. Both of these appear as ribbons in Excel. So I am wondering if either of these add-ons are interfering with Power Pivot in some way?

I reckon it's unlikely-I use both of those add-ins and they don't interfere with powerpivot for me-but you can try disabling them and then loading powerpivot again

I uninstalled two other add-ins I have "XY Chart Labels" and "Excel Utilities" as well as PowerPivot. I then re-installed PowerPivot and it did not show on the ribbon. When I go into: File->Add-Ins-> Manage Com Add-Ins-> And I check 'PowerPivot for Excel', I get an error referenced in the bottom of the dialogue box in the attached image, which says something like "Not loaded. An error occurred during the loading...."

Has anyone seen this error before?
