    line and column chart combined

    Hi there.

I have a linechart in which I want to make a verticle line every time a change is made in the settings of the data.

The chart is already excisting out of primary and secondary axis to view a horizontal line showing the mean and max of the data.

At the moment I have a line that is 0 and when a change is made jumps to 1. I would like to replace this line to a bar chart that is 0 and jumps to 1 when changes are made.

Reason is I now get a triagle instead of bar.

Hereby the file that should clear things.

    Hi,

you can show all line series on the primary axis if you arrange the data accordingly. You only need two data points per line, but place the in the first and in the last row of the data table. Then set the chart options for hidden and empty cells to connect data points with a line (Select Data Source dialog > Hidden and empty cells button).

Then you can use a column chart on the secondary axis for the verticals.

Or, you could use vertical error bars for the change series, set to "minus" and using 100% as the error bar length. Then format the line for the change series to no line and just the error bars remain.

See both scenarios in the attached file.
