Skipping data in a chart

I have data with corresponding dates, the data box is becoming to large. Can I show only the every 3rd peice of data while retaining the line chart

Simplest way is to filter the source data in such a way that only every 3rd data point is shown.
Make sure the chart setting of 'Plot visible cells only' is enabled.
