Help plotting filled shapes (currently plotting outlines using scatter)

    Hi all,

I have been able to plot a shape (in this case an ellipse or series of ellipses) using the scatter plot, however, what I would really like to do is fill this shape in with a solid colour (as opposed to just the outline). Is there anyway to do this? I would have thought it shouldn't be too hard but have been unable to find anything of help online.

I'm having no difficulty plotting the outline of the shape (i'm currently plotting with a scatter with straight lines) but it would be of great use if I could somehow fill these shapes. I am more than willing to move away from the scatter with straight lines method.

The end goal would be to have several filled shapes (ellipses and circles) with various sizes and centres (and different colours) around a 4 quadrant chart (the shapes would represent possible ranges of data).

    Thanks in advance.

The only way to get filled areas is by creating shapes. Depending upon your data this may or may not be straight forward.
