    18 months rolling on the same graph

    Hi,

    I am trying to setup a chart that has the previous 18 months and trying to compare to the projected 6 months. Since I have 2 years on one graph I want to compare it month to month. Right now I just have the x-axis numbered 1 to 12. Is there some way I can truncate the "Oct-12" (date data type) to just look like "Oct" on the graph with October of 2011 and October of 2012 on the same x-coordinate?

    Attached is a snap of the graph with the green being 18 months ago to 7 months ago and the yellow is 6 months ago to 1 month ago and the red being the projected 6 months. Let me know if anybody has any ideas.

    I assume you currently have nothing set for the Category range of the data series in the chart, I can not tell from the picture.

    Just use a row of 12 empty cells with the formula

    =TEXT(DATE(2012,COLUMN()-COLUMN($F$8),1),"MMM")

    where $f$8 is the cell to the left of the first of the 12 cells. This will give you the text Jan, Feb, Mar etc.

    The use that range as the category labels
    Cheers
