Hi, I'm new to this forum and hoping someone can help!

For the company I work for I often need to look over datalogs of processes from our equipment. This is typically around 20 columns of different data sets and anything upto 4000 rows of those data sets over time. I like to put the data into graphs so it's easier to view and compare multiple logs, but this is no where near as easy as I would like.

Due to varations from one piece of equipment to another, they datalog differently e.g. for one system column B might refer to data from a certain pressure gauge while on another, column B might refer to a voltage reading or a temperature.

What I am trying to do is create a universal template workbook, that I can drop multiple datalogs (text files) into, which will then work out which columns are what and how many rows of data there are and show them in graph form accordingly. Then, if I replace one datalog with another it would use this data in the graphs instead and scale the graphs appropriately.

At the moment I am having to use a seperate template for each system and edit the graphs everytime. Not only is it time consuming, but I want to train others to monitor these datalogs so ease of use would be highly beneficial. Reprogramming how the datalogs are written is not really an option at the moment so I am hoping there may be a reasonably straight forward solution.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Regards,

Andy
