Thumbs up Calculated field for the same values

    Hi guys!

I have a question I cant get sorted out. I am preparing a new report for the business using different and more accurate data source and I would like to set up the file in a way that every month I can just copy new data and refresh the Pivots, avoiding any manual calculations outside Pivot table.

I would like to set up a calculated field, and I know how to set them up, but I dont know if it is possible to calculate % from 2 colums that have the same values (comes from one column in data range). I dont know if that would be the correct explanation.

Please see Image attached (I have blurred out parts due to confidentiality)

If this is not enaught, please let me know and I will set up a sample file.

I would appreciate any feedback on this!

    Thank you in advance!

I reckon you need a calculated item and not a calculated field

if at first you don't succeed try doing it the way your wife told you to

Re: Calculated field for the same values

    Joseph,

Thanks! I had never used calculated item before and it solved the problem, however one issue minor issue remains. I am using grand totals for columns to show total expenses for year 2011 and YTD 2012, and after calculating increase in 2012 from 2011 in percentage, all the precents are summed in column total, its making approximately 425%. Is there a way to change that?

    Thanks again!
