Using IF comman to generate scatter plot

    Hey

I have 5 columns. Column 1 name, 2&3 x,y, 4 names(updated daily)and 5 IF column. I was able to generate a if command using (IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP... that basically looked for a value in column 1 and if it existed in column 4 and out put a "1". now i want to plot the x,y (column 2&3) associated to the column one value.

    Any thoughts???

    Many Thanks

    G

This looks interesting. But I cannot quite picture your spreadsheet. Please post a sample file. What is in column 4 (names)? What is the formula in column 5 in full? What exactly do you want to plot in the chart?

Please explain in more detail, illustrated with a sample file.

    sample file_1.xlsx
from the file you can see that if a file is received and located (=1 in column 5) i want to plot the X and Y in columns 2 and 3 in a scatter plot

Re: Using IF comman to generate scatter plot

Create a scatter plot from the data in columns B and C, then apply the autofilter to the source table with the keyboard shortcut ALT-D-F-F or the ribbon command Data > Filter. Then filter the source table to show only the values in column E that have a 1, i.e. select the drop-down in column E and tick only the "1"

The chart will then update automatically.

    see attached.

yes very nice. a simple filter for what you want to display.

how about if i want to display all the files compared to the received files (filtered) on one scatter plot?

thank you very much for your help NPAMCPP. its greatly appreciated

Just remove the filter to show all rows in the data source table. The chart will reflect this.
