Chart help - X axis labels not correct

Hello all, using Excel 2010, creating a very simple chart, and had this all figured out until I changed the chart type.

I'm trying to get my horizontal data source to reflect the labels in the spreadsheet, using an "X Y (Scatter)" chart.

    My data is simple --
    0° 10° 20° 30° 40° 50° 60°
    0 5.3 2.7 2.2 1.2 1.3 0.4

When I did this as a column chart, after a little work, it looks good -- the X axis labels are "0° 10° 20° 30° 40° 50° 60°", with the values (e.g, 5.3 for 10 degrees) above the axis labels. However, when switching to the scatter chart, the X axis labels are 0 through 8. If i right click and then click "select data", it shows that the "Horizontal (Category) Axis Labels are the proper items (the 0 though 60 degrees per the data in the data cells).

How do i get the proper info to show up on the chart???

    Hi John

That usually happens if the values in the X axis are not numbers, which should not happen in a scatter chart.

Test your X-Values, for ex. with

    =ISNUMBER(A1)

that should result in TRUE for all the X-Values.
