    Create a mutivariate scatter diagram

    I know with a scatter diagram I can produce an equation on the chart such as....

    y = 0.1319x + 97.715

    With a Y and one X

    What if I want a multivariate equation such as...

    Y = 7.136X1 + .01122X2 + 657.7906

    Is this possible? I performed a search but didn't come up with anything.

    I have a Y and then two X's.

    Anybody have some thought on this?

    Regards, Jeff

    The only 3D plotting capability Excel has is surface charts, which would require a table with x1 values across the top, x2 values down the left side, and y values in the body of the table.

    There are a bunch of scientific plotting utilities that will link to Excel.

    Andy Pope has a simple, hand-rolled 3D scatter chart example on his site.
