    Using named rages for charting

    Hi..

I am using excel 2007 and trying to build a charts for analysis on month wise basis for that i am using using named ranges in which i am using offset formula... and also i am using drop down list to select the month for chaning the range of data...

The chart and data is chaning as i change the months and everything is working fine until i am saving and closing the file. But when i am re-opening the file on the same PC, the chart is not changing when chnaging the months.

I could also see when selecting the chart, the chart series formula is not showing on the formula bar and the the series value where i am inputing the name range is becoming something like this "=[0]!gmv" where gmv is the name range and in place of 0 the file name should appear. but now its not the case.

I am wondering if this could be the error, if so how do i rectify this.... I need some help in building this chart for management purposes....

    Kindly help me out....

    Hi Andy

    Thanks for the reply...

Yesterday i checked the file at my home where i am having office 2010 installed and the charts were working as i desired without any changes applied, but at my work place i am using office 2007 and the file is showing me the same problem..... is there any option i have to select or unselect....

and in your post u told about some patches and service packs .... could u kindly give me the link from where i could download it..

The file is a confidential management report, so its highly risky for me to upload the file, as it could go against the company policy.....

Kindly need some inputs and help....

    Thanks
