    Graph with multiple data sets

    Hi all,

I've trying to create a graph from a data set similar to the following:

Report | Start Time | Elapsed time
    Report 1 | 11:45 am | :01
    Report 1 | 12:12 pm | :32
    Report 1 | 12:54pm | 1:05
    Report 2 | 12:22 pm | 1:33
    Report 2 | 1:14 pm | :34
    Report n | 11:48 am | 4:13

I have >400 rows of data, with 17 different reports.

I'm trying to make a graph which has an x axis of "Start Time" and a y axis of "Elapsed Time", with 17 different colored lines for each of the reports, so we can view all the report timings over a span of several hours (we're attempting to see if the time spikes of some reports at certain times occurs for all reports)

However, when I attempt to create it, Excel clumps the Report with the Start time, and I can't seem to separate them.

Does anyone have any insight? Am I ordering the data incorrectly?

Thank you very much for your help

Re: Graph with multiple data sets

You will have to split up the series into 17 different pieces. That can be done several different ways. You could copy each report series to a different worksheet and define the series as the data from each report. You could define each series as a subset of the Start Time and Elapsed time columns in this worksheet.

As far as I know, there is no way to use the contents of a third column as a series discriminator.
