Chart data from a changing cell over time

    Hello,

I am trying to chart data from a single cell that is changing over time. The cell is linked to another software program that provides its value. I would like to be able to chart the changes in its value either every time it changes or on some time interval (i.e. every 3 minutes).

Is there a way to do this?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

You would need code to save the value to a different cell.
The saved values could then be charted.

How is the data cell currently linked and updating?

    Thanks for the reply.

That's what I thought I might need to do. However I'm not sure how to do that. Is there a way to save the data to a new cell whenever it changes, or at a certain time interval?

The data cell is linked to a cell in a separate application that outputs its level. The application actually outputs several different values to another sheet in excel which does calculations on them and puts the resulting value in the cell I want to chart.

Any help on this is much appreciated as I am not very well versed in VBA or coding.

    Thanks

Don't cross post without letting others know you have done so.
