Thanks. So is there a way you have managed to work around this problem if excel doesn't support this function?

Slow answer is also no.

Only possible work arounds would be 2 charts overlaid with transparency set on top one.
Or completely construct the wire frame yourself by calculating the intersections.
Having a coloured/filled surface would be extremely difficult.

This is a needed function. If you browse the internet, there are lots of folks asking the same question. I wonder if an old copy of quattro pro does this ...
