create a chart with variable Chart data

    Hi all,
I have 4 to 7 data sets [ex.(D33:E45), (D47:E51), etc.] the problem is that each set of data has a different number of elements. I want to use a drop down to select the data set and based on the option in the drop down generate a pie chart. My thinking was that I could create a pie chart and in the source data use an "indirect" to populate. This isn't working though.

There is a thread similar to this one already and the only suggestion was to populate a cells with the data set and graph that but I don't know how to get the source data to limit the source data cells to only those with values in them. If you try to create a pie chart with data sources that are empty the graph doesn't come out properly.

    Thanks for the help

I used you data from your other post.

This chart uses a named range for it's data source.
The named range uses a table of row positions and a look to provide the values for the OFFSET formula.

ok third times a charm I've tried to send this post and the web keeps smiting me

I can't submit my workbook because it has sensitive data on it. I can follow what you did but I get a little hazy on the application.

can you help me put with the particulars of naming (chtdata) and of offset. also I have a dynamically changing chart there are always 2 columns but the number of rows change. unused rows give a 0 value and that is where I'm getting my data from.

    thanks
