Hi guys i use a standard report containing a simple histogram. Day by day a new column should be added so in order to do it autom. i found an excel in internet but as you see when i tried to replicate it (sheet 2) it doesnt work..
Changes only the names but the column in the chart remains... if anyone could help and explain me why it could be great!!

You have only included a named range for the category labels. The actual data values is still a static range.

    Add a new named range

    CHTDATA: =OFFSET(check,0,1)

    change the series formula to
    =SERIES(,'variable chart range.xls'!check,'variable chart range.xls'!ChtData,1)
    Cheers

but only for curiosity why in the first sheet it works with only the offset months and series
    =SERIES(;'variable chart range.xls'!Months;Sheet1!$B$2:$B$13;1) ??

Because the scale is being plotted as Time series rather than category.

Right click the chart and pick Chart Options.
On the Axes tab set the Category axis to be Category rather than automatic.

This will cause the 12 columns to appear.
