I am not sure I should do your homework, but anyway, here is how I'd do it.
Say you've two columns, A with your X values and B with your Y values.
Plot the data as an XY scatter graph.
Then click on one of the data points (selects the data), rightclick and select - add trendline,
then use a linear trend line and display the formula. That plots a straight line - but it will look curved as it is on a log scale.
If you choose an exponential trendline then you will have a line that looks straight.
