That's exactly what I need to do. However, I am still having trouble getting the markers to appear where they should.
I'm becoming convinced that what I want to do is not possible.
I modified my source data but maybe I didn't modify it correctly:
Date Single Copy Sales Price Changes
6/30/1997 37,907
12/31/1997 34,028
6/30/1998 30,491
12/31/1998 32,319
6/30/1999 39,831
12/31/1999 38,113
6/30/2000 36,815
12/31/2000 40,971
6/30/2001 42,251
12/31/2001 40,994
6/30/2002 41,400 8/19/2002
12/31/2002 49,513
6/30/2003 45,154
12/31/2003 52,783
6/30/2004 54,446
12/31/2004 58,305 10/1/2004
6/30/2005 54,846
12/31/2005 56,396
6/30/2006 57,185
12/31/2006 56,282
My aim was to have the price change dates indicated in Column C.
But when I added a second series of data to my chart I got this:

I'm really stumped. This started out as a 10 minute project and I've been trying to get this accomplished for the last 2 hours now. I really don't know what to do.
Am I just screwing up the source data? I'm sorry if I'm being dumb - I just don't get this - it seems like it should be so simple to just add new markers and name them what I want.
