Removing Gridlines from 3D Column Chart Walls

I am wondering if there is a way to remove the Category Axis and Series Axis gridlines from the walls of a 3-D Column Chart. Naturally, I can easily remove the Value Axis gridlines by selecting them and clearing them. But the Category and Series axis gridlines continue up onto the walls, and if I try to remove them then they are removed from the floor of the chart as well.

What I basically want is to only have the floor with gridlines and the 3d columns with blank walls. Is this possible?

    Thanks

Select the axis grid lines and format it to the same colour as the columns of your 3-D chart

Thanks for the reply oldchippy .. but that still doesn't help with my problem. The only way to get the gridlines to not show on the wall is to make them the same color as the wall. I would really like for the wall to be white or cleared and the gridlines to still be black.

Click on the walls, Format set Border and Area to none - see example

Maybe I should have just attached my example from the get go. Now you should be able to see all of the manipulation I've done to the chart to get it how I want it, and how those gridlines sticking up are just annoying and I'm thinking it's either a VBA solution or just can't be done.

    Thanks again

It took me a while, but right click on the vertical lines and pick Clear

I think I've tried this a million times now, and clearing the vertical lines also clears the lines on the floor (and i really want them to be black on the floor to show the grid).

Could there be some settings that allow you to better manipulate the chart? or maybe a different version of excel? - I'm using 2003.
