Tracking Stock Chart showing Buy and Sell points

Does anyone have a chart that they use to track stock investments, which shows the price history (that part is easy) but also the Buy and Sell points on the chart?
    Thanks
    Phil

I'm just getting into trading and want to try out different buy/sell signal rules and simulate what would have been if I had applied those rules in the past. I want to plot them on a graph so I see how they line up visually with peaks and troughs, ranges and trends.

If I can leverage what others have done, rather than building everything from scratch, that would be great. I would like to do it in Excel (rather than a software package) so i can tweak the rules and/or the display format.

I would be happy to share any improvements I can make on an Excel trading system.

    Exclamation

we can try out the defferent buy/sell signal rules if we can chart a line for 5 or 13 or 34 days move average in a graph.

but now, i do not know how to chart stock&line in a graph.

    phedwards,

I'll say that I wanted to leverage other peoples work too (why reinvent the wheel???) but, to tell you the truth, the more I looked the more it was apparent to me that the way charting modules get built is in a very idiosyncratic fashion. What this resulted in is that I went at it alone just picking up tips from Jon Peltier's site and the like to implement specific functionality. One piece that I coded that I have shared with the world relates to toggling series from viewable to hidden and vice versa. I have upward of 20+ series on any one chart...

You can find this approach here on this forum but again, i fear, you may find this, well, idiosyncratic... Let me know.

Re: Tracking Stock Chart showing Buy and Sell points

    Hi guys,

I have a couple of technical indicators that can generate the 'Buy' and 'Sell' signals.

Is there a way, how to display these signals graphically in an Excel chart (the green and red arrows)? I would like to see graphically how the indicators work.

I have found this thread and seen that Arioti developed kind of graphic signals, but don't know whether it is possible to download the Macro/File. Please let me know.

    Thanks.
