color boxes are the plot area background

    color boxes are the plot area background

    It's really hard for me to explain in words, so I've attached a sample chart.
    As you can see in the example, I've drawn 4 color boxes to seperate the data. However, by doing so, I can barely see the bars now. Is there a formal way of doing what is shown in the example? So that the color boxes are the plot area background?

    Or any suggestions towards this type of chart/spreadsheet is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

    if you adjust the transparency level of the rectangles to between 70 and 75% you should achieve your required result
