    3D Graphing using XYZ axis

I'm trying to construct a visual display of objects each of which have 3 data points. None of the given charts and graphs in excel really cut it, or I just haven't found the right one, yet. I'm thinking that a 3D graph will do the trick. I have about 40 objects to show so something like the Radar isn't going to work. Is there a way to create a 3D chart so that the combination of height, width, and depth create one data point for each object?

    Thanks!

I don't use 3D plots much, but, from what limited experience I have, I don't believe Excel offers a 3D scatter plot option. All 3D plots in Excel are category based. If you spend enough time wrapping your brain around it, I'm sure you could eventually come up with a way to fake a 3D scatter plot in Excel. It's probably easier to just get a proper graphing program that will generate 3D scatter plots.

We are a new 3D graphics technology company located in Ottawa, Canada, and we have created a product especially for this task. ThreeDify Excel Grapher is a Microsoft Excel add-in that runs right in Excel, and gives you a variety of plotting, display, and animation features for plotting 3D data directly from an Excel spreadsheet. You can embed a variety of views and renders right in the worksheet.

You can download a free trial of the product from this link: http://threedify.com/asdgraph.html and see if it does the trick. XYZ scatter graphing is no problem, or if you wish, you can actually render solid shapes based on the data.

I hope you find this helpful.
