Graphing with labels from other data

I hope someone here can help me with this.

I have a worksheet that has a column of dates, a column of numbers (the closing price of a stock on those dates).

I can chart the closing price vs. the date on a line chart, and everything works perfectly.

HOWEVER, I need to add to the chart another set of data. On some of those dates, an investor purchased varying amounts of shares. I would like to add to the chart, displayed near the "lines" of the charts, the date of the purchase, and the number of shares purchased on those dates, and if possible, the price actually paid by the investor (the closing price previously charted and the purchase price are often times different) This data is in a different worksheet, but of course, they can be added to the same worksheet if needed.

Is this possible?? Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Michael

Actually, I was hoping that it wouldn't be a seperate line. I was hoping to make it look like the following chart. A single line chart, and then a little note near the line, with the number of shares and the date.

    Hi,

still researching, closest so far is to put a pointer that shares were purchased on a date, still need to find a way to attach an individual data point label to that and colour it light gray (hidden)

(posted in case someone else has a better clue).
