Checker help - i'm new don't flame

Hello all, is there any quickly way to highlight all ODD or EVEN number so i can put shade in for easier to data entry? i'm talking about over 1,000 number of rows and 12 colums, i'd like to have like this way 3rd row gray, 5th row gray, 7th row gray, 9th row gray... all way to 1,000 or 2,000. i don't really like to hold ctrl and click every odd number, i mean come on, i know there quickly way to get it.
by the way, i'm using excel 2000 (at work) and 2002 (at home) excel
