scatter charts

I have the following data in excel and want to create a scatter plot.

bread....7....24
drinks....9....29
foods....6....23

When I create this data as a scatterplot it plots the first set of data as one dot and the second set of data as another dot, so 6 dots on total.

I can get the scatter plot I require by leaving out the first column of data, but this then does not allow me to label the dots.
