    Order of items in legend

    Greetings,
I have charted a couple of series in 100%stacked form. I want the series
represended in the legend to match the order of the graphs.

    ie
if the columns are red, green, blue I want the legend to have item 1 is red,
item 2 is green and the last item is blue. Right now, they are not in the
same order, and If I go to series order, it changes the graph not the
legend. This won't work with what I am trying to do.

    I don't understand your problem.

If your data looks like this and you make a stacked column chart with series in rows:

    a b c d e f
    red 3 5 3 3 5 3
    green 3 3 5 4 5 4
    blue 5 3 4 5 5 3

then it is plotted in the chart with red on the bottom, green stacked on red, and
blue stacked on green (in reverse order of the data in the sheet). But the legend
also has red on bottom and blue on top.

If I change the plot order, the legend and the stacking order of the series change
    the same way.

Re: Order of items in legend

ok, I'll try to be clear.
I have stacked columns chart. The columns are black, blue, red (representing
3 series of data) starting from the top of the chart and working down
towards the x axis. The legend has the keys in reverse order starting from
the top working down. So the legend has red, blue and black as the order.
I would like the chart color order (black, blue, red) starting from the top
and the legend keys to match (black, blue red starting from the top).

So, is there a way I can re-order the entries in the legend without
effecting the stacked colors of the chart ?

    Darryl -

I understand (and understood) your description. I do not know where the problem
comes from. When I make a stacked column chart, the columns and the legend are
    arranged the same way top-to-bottom.

Are your values negative or the Y axis values in reverse order? This will change the
stack order of the columns but not the legend.

You cannot change the order of the legend independent of the series order.
