How do I create a Stacked Bar Chart where the Data shows against a target

    Hi,

I am trying to create a stacked bar chart where the 2 sets of data should not add up but show the actual levels.

For example column 1 has figures of actual 453 but target was 914. When I create a stacked bar chart, the two figures are adding together and the bar is showing at 1,367 rather than sitting at 914 as this was the target.

I have attached the picutre of how my chart currently looks, but I would like the orange section to be sitting at 914 and not the combined total.

many thanks for any advice on how I can achieve this.

    thanks,

    Welcome to the forum!
    1. Use Combo Chart
    2. Use secondary axis for target series
    3. Set both axis minimum and maximum bounds to the same scale

Hi, Thank you for the welcome.

I'm not sure if this is what I'm looking for - I've had a look at Combo charts and that whats to use the secondary axis as a line.

The chart I need to do must be a stacked one and show the levels. In my example the Homes Delivered total for Castle Point is 453 but the Target delivery was 914. I need my result to be that part of the bar is coloured dark blue for the 453 but the remainder of the bar up to 914 is orange. If you see in the example the bar it going over the 1000 line so it would appear to be adding these two results together. How do I get it to show at the correct level and not add them together?

    Thanks,

Change the chart type to Clustered Columns.

Re: How do I create a Stacked Bar Chart where the Data shows against a target

There is a disadvantage of using Method 2: when Actual ≥ Target, the Target column is invisible.

Such disadvantage is overcome in Method 1 by adjusting the Gap Width of Target column to make it thicker than the Actual column.
