Hello,
I'm a mechanical engineer student and we use Excel for math and physics. I really enjoy using Excel as well as getting work done efficiantly, I'm always looking for ways to do the same amount of work faster and more efficiently.
Currently the top frustration is having to manually edit charts every time, even though every chart is the same with just different data.
In the attached picture you can see the top chart is the default scatter chart.
Middle one is with a few changes I want (axis titles, horizontal values at low position). I save this chart as a template.
Bottom chart is the saved template applied to the exact same data. As you can see, it does not use the data like it does in the other charts.
So the question is why and how do I fix it? Of course, without having to manually edit the charts every time :D I've also included a sample workbook with this situation.
Another related question. How can I make the axis titles fill in automatically? In 99% of my charts, the titles are written on top of the data column. In this case they are "t (s)" and "a (m/s^2)". I know I can click the "Axis title" and use the formula bar to point it to the cell with the text, but I dont find this being any faster than just typing in the name by hand.
E: I've also asked this on reddit, but I cannot provide the required link because the forum says I'm not allowed to post a link here.
