Histogram is blank when I reference a 1000 item list

I am trying to create a histogram with a 1000-item list. This list is will likely mostly be blank and I only want it to utilize the lines with data. It works when I select 1000 cells and they all have data. It does not work when I select 1000 cells but only the first 10 have data. By not working, I mean that the chat square is completely blank with only the chart title header appearing. Any thoughts on why this is happening?

    Hi there.

A picture is worth 1,000 words. An Excel sheet is worth 1,000 non-editable pictures.

Please read the yellow banner about sample worksheets, at the top of the screen. Act on its guidelines and post a SMALL sample sheet complete with an explanation and some expected results.

Here us an example of what I am talking about. Histogram for dataset 1 has a 1000 cell range and appears blank but histogram for dataset 2 has a 20 range and looks ok.

Are you happy just to return the lines with data in the histogram

You could probably accomplish this basing it on the filter formula, but as Glenn says a sample would make life easier and you would get a better answer

The chart isn't completely blank. If you expand the graph, you see a very small line next to the vertical axis.
