(How to) Upload a Workbook directly to the Forum
(please do not post pictures or links to worksheets)
- Click Advanced next to "Post Quick Reply" button at the bottom right of the editor box.
- Scroll down until you see "Manage Attachments",
- Click the "Choose" button at the upper left (upload from your computer).
- Select your file, click "open", click "upload"
- Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
- Close the Attachment Manager window.
- Click "Submit Reply"
Note: Please do not attach password protected workbooks/worksheets
Ensure to disable any Workbook Open/Autorun macros before attaching!

I can't upload the full workbook as it has sensitive info in it.
In order to appear in the data table of a chart it has to be a series in the chart.
As you are using a 3d stacked column the total series will also have to be part of the stack.
The data can be summed using a simple SUM formula
The total series can be formatted to have no fill.
You may also want to adjust the vertical axis Maximum to avoid too much space at the top of the chart.
FYI - example workbooks do not need to contain you actual data. They only need some data that demonstrates the problem.
Thanks mate, Yes I have seen this option however, if I do this the 'totals' line will be at the top of the data table, if I move the 'totals' line to the bottom of data table, it also moves the totals 'un-filled' bar to bottom of stacked bar which leaves an awkward gap between bottom of horizontal axis and start of stacked bar.
For the total to be at the bottom of the stack it needs to be a negative value.
You can use a custom number format to remove the negative sign
