I have a sheet that has a table and a column that has a column with text.
I would like to make a pie chart with the different text in the column as a percentage in the pie chart.
Not sure how this can be done. Thanks

It would help to attach your file so we can see what your data looks like. See yellow banner at the top of the page.
How you determine what percentage should be used for each text item in the pie chart? You description goes straight from a "column with text" to "percentages in the pie chart" without an explanation of how to get there.
Here is the spreadsheet. I have a couple of charts on it, created from numbers in the columns. In particular, see column E on the "Trends" tab
csv files cannot hold charts, so all that we see is a database of data (looks like home sales??). Column E is labled "how sold", and I would expect a pie chart based on this column to want to show a count of each category. I would expect the solution would involve either a COUNTIFS() function or a pivot table to do the counting, then build a pie chart off of the resulting summary/pivot table.
If you are unfamiliar with the COUNTIFS() function: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...rs=en-us&ad=us
If you are unfamiliar with pivot tables: https://www.excel-easy.com/data-****...ot-tables.html
