Dynamic resizing of charts... works by default for me, but then fails when I upload

Hi,

My developers and I are going crazy trying to work out why Excel dynamically resizes my charts in my template (so as not to include blank cells)... but when that template is used by our api, the charts suddenly plot all the blank cells in the range.

It's as though the chart starts recognising the blank cells (with formulas) as non-blank.

I've spent many MANY hours searching for the answer to force the charts to NOT include blank cells... but can't get anything to work.

Any ideas??

You don't provide enough detail for anybody without your template or API to determine what the problem is.

Does the api update the series formula? Does it change how the chart should deal with empty/hidden cells?
Do the formula return #N/A when not required so the chart can ignore data points?
