Add data label value from cell without callout

I'm making a diagram of a (financial instrument) portfolio value change (%) over time. I would like to add information to the chart about the total value of the portfolio at any given time. My idea was to add data labels "values from cells" linked to the total value of the portfolio. The problem is that all the data labels are called out, leaving me with an extremely cluttered diagram. What I would like to achieve is that when I hover the mouse over the diagram it would at any point give:
    - Date
    - Value change x% (which is what's being graphed)
    - Total value (USD)

Is there a way to hide data labels while also addding labels from cells?

Attach the sample file and show how it looks like.

A chart created from a pivot table of your data. You can select the range that will be shown on the graph using the slider.

Thanks, but that's not what I'm looking for. I want the graph to show the %-change but I want to be able to hover the mouse on any point in the graph to show the total value (USD) at that time.

    Could it be better?

Re: Add data label value from cell without callout

Thanks again for your suggestion, but it doesn't really help. As the number of days/data points will be >1 000 to have any sort of data callout will be far too messy.
