Clustered and Stacked Chart (More complex than the standard?)

    Hi,

I've read lots of tutorials and posts but can't seem to figure out how to do the following:

I need to combine the two chart shown in the attached so that the delivery cost sits on top (in a different shade of that colour) of the product cost bar for each option of each supplier.

    Is this possible?

    Cheers,

    Will

Edit 1 - Excel sheet attached also.

Edit 2 - Rough outcome image attached

    Welcome to the forum!

Will you please attach a sample Excel workbook? We are not able to work with or manipulate a picture of one.

    1. Make sure that your sample data are REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential data is removed or replaced with dummy data first (e.g. names, addresses, E-mails, etc.).

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells as they cause lots of problems.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

Please pay particular attention to point 2 (above): without an idea of your intended outcomes, it is often very difficult to offer appropriate advice.

You need to make the delivery series a sum of the 2 costs in order to make the height correct.

Add the 4 new series to the chart and then move the 4 Production cost series to the secondary axis.
Delete the secondary axis so all series share the same axis.

Hi. yes this is possible. It you use the CTRL key, you can highlight multiple sets of data. then Create a 2D column and choose Stacked Column. that will put one set of data on top of the other. I think that is what you are after?
