Question How to have an axis with "categories" in a bar chart ?

    Hi all,

i'm trying to get Excel to create a bar chart like this one:

    good2.jpg

What is important for me is to have "categories" ("very low" to "very high") shown on the horizontal axis.

    So that
    0-10 = "very low"
    11-20 = "low"
    21-30 = "average"
    31-40 = "high"
    41-50 = "very high"

Ma data is a simple 2-colums array in which i have a score (0-50) for each characteristic (openness to ideas, openness to imagination, etc).

I'm able for the moment to get a simple bar chart of course, but i don't know how to make the scores fall into "categories".

Could you please help me with that?

    Cheers,

    Adrien

A technique like this one: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/Y_CategoryAxis.html adapted from a scatter chart to a bar chart.

    Thank you very much!!
The article you sent me gave me the asnwer! It helped me find my own creative way out:

    super.jpg

It was tricky with bars but i managed.

I didn't even have to use Rob Bovey's XY Chart Labeler add-in.

    For those interested:

The blue serie (the actual real score) has:
    - Plot series on: Primary Axis
    - Series overlap: 100% (doesn't matter)
    - Gap width: 146%
    - Data label contains: Value

The colorful series (at the bottom of the chart) have:
    - Plot series on: Secondary Axis
    - Series overlap: 100%
    - Gap width: 0%
    - Data label contains: Series name

    Cheers and thanks again!
