Excel novice - line chart troubles

Hi David,

Can you step me through what you do to update the charts?

What I mean is something like the below;

1. Firstly you copy the data from your email & Paste over the existing data
2. Go the Charts & update the chart ranges

Thanks, so is the problem that the chart doesn't read the new range once you add your new data?

If so, make the source data range a table by selecting Format as Table under the 'Home' tab.

This will ensure the data you paste in will adjust to chart all the new data.

Hope this helps.

Consider altering the layout of your data for charting and use a table. As you append new rows the chart will grow.

You can copy and paste special transpose to complete the population of the table.
