Graph, axis options

The last day in my data set 7. september 2016. Therefore it is not convenient that the last one shown on graphs is a date from 2014. I want my graph to show 7. september 2016 as the last point on the x axis. Of course I can play with axis options under format axis with units, major etc until my date axis the way i want it to be, but there must be an easier way so it's always the last day. how do i do that?
