Format Axis - pivot chart problem

Hi all,

This is driving me nuts!

I have a pivot chart that uses a data set over a 7 day period. The X axis has the date and time in dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm.

Excel has chosen to label the x axis with seemingly random date and time entries.

I want to label them at 12 hour periods exactly. I am using excel 2003. In the format axis dialog box, I cannot figure out the number to enter in "Specify interval unit" to get the desired entries on the x axis....

So for example the data starts at 16/05/2016 00:00. The next entry on the x axis should be exactly 12 hours later. 16/05/2016 12:00.

As your picture shows, the only x axis options available to pivot charts are the "category" axis options. So it is probably labeling every "nth" category with whatever date time corresponds to that category. Date and numeric horizontal axes are not available to pivot charts.

It might be easier to use a "regular" XY scatter chart, where you can set the x axis tick mark spacing at 12 hours (0.5 days). Creating a regular chart from pivot table data can be tricky. I suggest this tutorial: http://peltiertech.com/regular-chart...-pivot-tables/
