How do I make a simple 2-point line chart?

This is a real noob question - how do I take two x/y co-ordinates such as 1,2 and 5,6 and put them in cells in such a way that when I highlight them and create a graph from them Excel will plot the two points and draw a line between them?

At the moment, on 2013's default line chart setting, it's giving me two lines - one from 1,1 to 2,5 and the other line is from 1,2 to 2,6.
